One of the standout moments of the recent Breakspoll awards ceremony in good old London town was a startling 140 jungle (or nu-jungle as we're calling it until somebody comes up with a better name) set from the mighty Rennie Pilgrem, accompanied by the ever-energetic MC Chikaboo. Chatting to Rennie recently, it seems he's become a little disillusioned with the breaks scene's descent into techier realms, hence his dabbling in the nascent nufunk scene. However, the jungle vibes, with all that room for melodic interaction in amongst the breakbeats and basslines, appears to be right up Mr Pilgrem's street, and he's embracing the new sound like a duck to water.
