Afghan Headspin were born in 2006, two members , Wrisk & Mackie from dnb trio Resonant Evil (Moving Shadow, Renegade Hardware) decided to branch out and into the world of Breakbeat. Their debut single “The Calling” was picked up by Broke, starting a rollercoaster of a ride for artist and listener alike. Afghan Headspin have since gone on to release on labels like Rocstar, APE, Hardcore Beats, Against The Grain, Mechanoise, Bombtraxx, Westway, Downbeat, Silo, and set up their own small imprints Valium & Standard Audio.
Taking their sound out on the road, Afghan Headspin have managed to firmly secure their name in Southern Spain as one of the leading artists in the tearout scene, known for twisting and tearing basslines and seering lead lines, no holds barred filth! Bookings are starting to come in thick and fast as word spreads, let these guys loose on a crowd and mayhem will be released.
2008 saw a slew of releases throughout the year, which culminated in an guest mix on Annie Nightingales Radio 1 show in early 2009, and a slot at the world famous Breakspoll Awards at Fabric. Collaborations with Cut La Roc, and Shut Up and Dance, two of the biggest names in the Breakbeat world were widely recieved and have acted as another stepping stone in taking their sound to the four corners of the World.
