Mr Bongo are proud to release the debut UK single 'Boa Noite' from Brazilian Hip-Hop crossover artist Karol Conka this October. The track is featured as one of only two Brazilian songs on the FIFA 14 video game, which celebrates Brazilian football ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The rest of the soundtrack features music from Nine Inch Nails, Empire of The Sun, Chvrches, Vampire Weekend and fellow Brazilian rapper Marcelo D2.
Ahead of the FIFA 2014 World Cup, this is the first in a series of special Brazilian based releases celebrating 25 years of Mr Bongo Records. Karol Conka's sound combines traditional Brazilian music with Hip-Hop flow and trap style production. The rest of the world know this kind of sound as Baile Funk, which is actually a term which refers to parties where the music is played rather than the music. Karol performed at the Vice Creators Project in São Paulo last year and in 2011 gained national recognition in Brazil with a nomination at the Brazilian MTV Awards.
