WEATHER FORECAST: A PORTUGUESE LOVE STORY
FreimaLabsFreima Labs’s very first release is a compilation called ‘Weather Forecast’ and it is indeed a forecast of the nearby future, presenting our main artists and what’s new in the Portuguese electronic dance scene. It encompasses a variety of genres, from Deep and Tech House, to Dubstep, New Disco and Punk-Funk – creating a rare sense of unity in diversity.
Showcasing some of the most talented Portuguese and Portugal-based electronic artists (both established and upcoming), ‘Weather Forecast’ is set for a steady course from Portugal (with love) to the World.
The compilation opens up with the sweetest Deep House track from Trikk (a 19 year old producer who’s recently seen his first works published by Spaqat Music) and sails away through the highly physical techouse of Miguel Torga and Stereo Addiction (Vapour/Doppelgänger), followed my two dub-flavored tracks from Infestus (Groovement) and Deestant Rockers.
It is now time to adjust the course and roam through soundscapes closer to techno, starting with a highly emotional track from Ludovic (Deep Limit/Raving Loony/Kiez Beats), a massive floor-breaker by Photonz (Living Records/Dissident) and Freimatic’s (Boxon Records/Catalytic) ‘Embrass’ which combines Techno, Folk and Fado.
We still don’t know what to think of Jesus K & the SickSickSicks’ ‘Sexy Cyborg Shark Dance’ except for the fact that we absolutely love its Electro-Rave-Punk-Folk accent. And because after the storm comes the calm, just let yourself float to the sounds of 3 exceptional club anthems by Voxels (Top Billin/NightRunners), Pixel82 (Ministry of Sound/Parlophone/Harthouse) and Mirror People (Solar Disco/Permanent Vacation).
Freima Lab’s ‘Weather Report’ is a collection of some of the freshest Portuguese electronic flavors around, gathering a multiplicity of artists and genres under a seal of quality and taste. It is sure to make you shake your shame off to the ground, announcing great times yet to come.
